Hi,

On behalf of Jane, I draw your attention to the following ...

The Rotary Leadership Institute Course being held on Saturday and Sunday 19-20 October offers an excellent program of leadership development which will benefit you, not only in Rotary but in your personal and business life.  And, what's more, it's free!  A personal email was sent to everyone on Monday 16 September.  You can read about it here in District Bizz or find it in your personal email.

Have you checked out the Expression of Interest information regarding the various positions available for the new District 9510?  As DGE David Jones commented in his email on Saturday, 14 September, applications will be closing very soon.  Please find his email in your Inbox, check out the links and take action to ensure you have an active role at District level in the new district.  As DG Jane commented:  "Working at District level is one of the most rewarding jobs in Rotary."  Here's the link for applications.

Please note that, unfortunately, the fundraising film "Ride Like a Girl" which was due to be shown at the Regal Theatre, Kensington Park on Sunday 22 September has been cancelled.

Until next District Bizz, enjoy life with your family, in your business and in Rotary.

Yours in Rotary
Glenda Sherwin-Lane, Editor on behalf of
Jane Owens
Governor,  District 9500 - 2019/20

Donations in Kind Working Bee - 19 October 2019,  9:30am to Midday

Rotarians and friends from all clubs in Districts 9500 and 9520 are invited to the Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Service (RAWCS) Central Region / Donations in Kind (DIK) Working Bee,  starting at 9:30am, at the DIK facility at Edinburgh on Saturday 19 October 2019, culminating in a barbecue at midday.

Your assistance on the day will greatly help the running of DIK, one of RAWCS' most dynamic but unsung programs, and will substantially complement the steadfast efforts of the DIK committee, regular volunteers and clubs that have had working bees at DIK in the past.

This is a special opportunity for Rotarians and friends to enjoy good fellowship and have fun while working for a common cause.  A program of priority tasks has been scheduled, enabling you and your club to get hands-on international service locally.

NOTE: Turn left at the 1st roundabout on Taranaki Rd and follow the signs.

To assist with catering please book at https://dik.eventbrite.co.uk

FUNDING ASSISTANCE SOUGHT FOR HEALTH CLINIC IN MBALE, UGANDA

The Rotary Clubs of Seaford (D9520) and Mbale Uganda, D9211, are seeking assistance to develop a health clinic on land central to the communities of  Lukhonje, Bukiende, Bumasikye and Sibanga which have no nearby healthcare facilities.

The nearest government or private health care facility is 10 to 15Km away. It is especially dangerous to try to reach these facilities after dark with poor transport options. Local public services are inadequate with four women recently dying in child birth and it is reported that every month a community loses 4 to 5 people due to various illnesses.  Read more ...
