Born and raised in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne towards the end of World War II, Kerry attended Secondary and Tertiary Technical Colleges while living on rural properties outside of Melbourne
Kerry commenced full time employment in the rural stock industry on a very memorable day, February 14 1966. After a short stint in the Melbourne regional office, he transferred to Hamilton, then Benalla, prior to joining the hospitality industry with Travelodge in Melbourne. Later he served in Adelaide, Townsville and Sydney before returning to Melbourne in 1974.
In 1975 Kerry married Evelyn, a commercial artist who had spent 7 years flying with Ansett. In 1976 the Brandt-Wilson's moved back to Adelaide, living and working in the hospitality industry at Glenelg. In late 1977 Kerry was invited to become a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Holdfast Bay and was inducted on the 13th May 1978. Resigning in 1980 after moving to North Adelaide, he maintains a close relationship with that Club to this day.
Kerry became involved in the building industry in the early 80's and worked in South Australia, Victoria, Northern Territory, and Western Australia over the next 15 years.
In January 2001, he joined the Rotary Club of North Adelaide with the classification of Marketing, serving on the board before becoming President in 2003-04. Kerry became involved at District level in 2002 serving on the Membership, ARCAP & Centenary Committees & finally serving as District Chair of Community in 2005-06.
Kerry is looking forward to working closely with and getting to know many more Rotarians over the next year.
Join with the Rotary Club of North Adelaide to show that Rotarians Care as we make the most of 2007-08.
